Don't Give Up Trying to Make Money Online.
The so called "Internet Marketing Gurus" make it sound so
easy. But it's a fact is most people who setup an internet
business to make money online fail. The cold hard facts are
they never make more than they spend.
Over hyped up sales pages, in addition to a lot of the
information that they pump out give the impression that you
can make millions overnight. If you've been building your
business long enough to have a fairly large email list,
thousands or tens of thousands of followers, and savvy
marketing skills, you certainly can. But NOT if you've just
setup your first web site. There are always exceptions, but
they're few and far between. There are no overnight
successes. When you see an overnight success, what you
don't see, are the years of work spent getting to that
point.
So many people who try get frustrated when they don't make
any sales or have trouble getting traffic. They jump from
idea to idea, from product to product, from this "guru's"
advice to that "guru's" advice. They buy product after
product looking for answers. Finally they give up, very
frustrated and very disillusioned.
However, the internet does give the ability to make a lot
of money in a lot of ways. If you follow those who've paved
the way, you can succeed too.
Here are 20 key items that can help you succeed.
- Focus on something you believe in and are passionate about.
- Be consistent.
- Be honest.
- Take advice from others if it makes sense, but think for yourself.
- Follow the steps of a successful person.
- Google Page Rank (PR) is NOT important.
- Learn some basic web skills.
- Test your site, copy, ads, etc..
- SEO is important but not more important than quality.
- Links to your site (from other sites) are important, maybe more than SEO.
- An email list is as important as SEO and Links are.
- Interact with your readers, it will build links and subscribers.
- Good content is really important to getting loyal readers.
- Quality products are important to repeat sales.
- Getting customers to return is important to profit.
- It's easier to keep a current customer than it is to get a new one.
- Establish contact with other bloggers and web sites operators.
- Your stats such as subscribers, traffic, and links will grow in an exponential manner.
- Multiply your efforts by getting help from others.
- Avoid the temptation to purchase every product that shows up in your inbox.
In future posts on my blog, I'll expand and address each of
these ideas at my Internet Business Blog.
